A recent United Nations report announced that we will likely surpass the 1.5°C limit for global warming by 2030. Despite this news, we need to continue trying to eliminate fossil fuel emissions. Since the largest component of household carbon footprints in Western countries is from private transportation, electrifying our vehicle fleet is a significant step we can take to reduce our fossil fuel dependence, but we need to ensure that we make this change as equitable as possible.
