The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Bracebridge Detachment is currently conducting an investigation into a serious single-vehicle accident that occurred on Matthiasville Road in Bracebridge.
On December 28, 2023, at 2:00 a.m., officers from Bracebridge OPP, along with Muskoka EMS and the Bracebridge Fire Department, responded to the scene of the collision. The driver, a 36-year-old man from Bracebridge, sustained life-altering injuries and was initially taken to a local hospital before being airlifted to a facility in Toronto for advanced medical treatment. There were no other individuals present in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
Matthiasville Road was temporarily closed to facilitate the investigation by OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists, but it has since been reopened to traffic.
